Chapter 6

Okay so here is the long awaited chapter 6..
I've been soo busy at the moment I haven't even had time to update this story in like forever! D:

Meh, I don't like this pic too much, but it's better than nothing.. :3 I kinda photoshoped the fish in since i was too lazy to draw some.. Anyways, I like how much my art has improved since the last pic! ^_^
So I feel accomplished, yeah.. :)
Chapter 6

“Munch! Munch! Munch!” Was the sound that Lefty heard at the dinner table, while she attempted to eat the fish in front of her. Lefty frowned, she was hoping that there would be more of a variety of foods in front of her… (Well, I guess that if we are going to be stuck here for a while, cooked fish may be the difference between survival and starvation…) Lefty thought to herself as she eyed the fish… After a quick decision, Lefty slowly cut off a piece of the fish and chewed it slowly…
Cat quickly scarfed down her fish and then looked at Lefty, who seemed to be playing with her fish rather than eating it… “What’s the matter? Not hungry?” Cat looked at Lefty while licking her lips. Lefty only mumbled something that Cat couldn’t quite hear, and then silently continued to eat her fish… Cat couldn’t quite understand exactly why Lefty was eating her fish so slowly, until she looked at Princess, Stripes, and Shila, who seemed to be having a hard time as well.
Shila and Stripes were also silently eating the fish with a frown on their face, but Princess had simply pushed the fish to her side. Cat was about to ask why no one was eating their fish, when a sudden cough caught Cat’s attention. Sitting across the table from Cat was Space, who was looking at Cat strange. A light bulb suddenly entered Cat’s mind, (Oh, I guess they aren’t exactly big fans of fish in their diet!) Cat suddenly realized, as she sat back down in her chair quietly…
“Ding! Ding! Ding!” Toby clanged on his cup, grabbing the attention of the ‘fish fan club’… “Ahem* I would like to say something…” Toby smiled, as he stood up, “Tomorrow will be the last day you all stay here, and I’m sure that you are all aware that I will be teaching this young Prophet here about her skills for most of the day. So make sure that the rest of ya don’t slack off either! However, I do want to let you in on a little secret…” Toby grinned, before taking a sip of something to drink from his cup, “*ah…* Ya’ll ain’t the first ones to come here…” Toby grinned…
At this both Lefty and Stripes got up at the same time “You mean that there was another group like us?!” They both exclaimed at the same, before laughing at each other for once again blurting out things simultaneously. Toby grinned from ear to ear, “That’s right; there have been others, as well as more Prophets…” Toby winked… It was then that Space jumped up, “So wait, I thought that there was only one group that the Prophet had chosen, and only one group who are suppose restore the light to Estyren… Are you saying that’s not true?” Space growled, feeling as though he had been betrayed.
Toby nodded, “Yes there was more, but they never did make it to stone hill... They either got corrupted by darkness, or they were ambushed….” The dwarf frowned, “However, that stone cross your Prophet, is still the same one… Ya see, every time something’ happened to the latest group that traveled towards stone hill, the cross would teleport to safety before the shadows could grab it… I’m sorry that I’m having’ to spring the news on ya so early, but I figured that you all needed to be warned ahead of time since you young ones find it harder to deal with grief…” Toby frowned…
The gang stared in horror at Toby, mouths wide open, save Princess who simply shrugged, “Eh, better them than us…” Princess replied, unaware of the seriousness behind it. A chair suddenly scooted beside Princess, “I’m going to bed…” Lefty mumbled, setting aside her fish as she slowly walked towards the bedroom’s doorway, head down the entire time…
The gang just stared at Lefty as she walked onwards into the bedroom before the gang followed suit. Space was the only one who stayed for a moment longer as her looked at Toby, “Well I guess I can thank you personally for giving us some hope…” Space snorted as he picked up his plate. Toby watched Space get up before he rubbed his beard, “Sorry to be the bearer of bad news… The truth sure does sting, but I have little doubt that your group will be the one to reach stone hill this time…” Toby replied using no emotion in his tone of voice…
Space then immediately threw down the plates he was holding, causing them to crash on the floor, “You know something? I don’t think that you personally care a bit if we do or not…” Space mumbled, clutching his fists before bending over and picking up the pieces of his broken plate.
Toby put his arms on his sides and huffed, “You’re absolutely right, I don’t… However, I do see good pure souls when I meet one, and you lot fit the bill as described in the ancient scrolls… After the first few Prophets came by with their groups, I lost hope… The picture that described the heroes in the texts fit none of their personality’s… So I just gave up hope. Until you guys showed up late here at my house.” Toby smiled, “I’ll admit that I really thought it was just another joke, but once I opened those scrolls back up again the pieces fit… So after putting two and two together, with the help of your Prophet, Lefty, whose powers came earlier and stronger than any others I have met.  I will say that I believe you can do your duty’s right! I myself don’t care what happens in this world, but I do care about the truth that lies in good souls… So I know that you and I don’t exactly match each other too well, but we do have the same goals in mind… So try and keep it that way, so I don’t have to mark another gone on my list.” The dwarf grunted…
Space stared in shock at Toby, “I- I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to cause this feud…” Space looked down, “I just don’t want to see my friends getting upset or hurt…” Space frowned. Toby walked towards Space and extended his hand over Space’s shoulder… Space flinched in surprise, before looking at Toby who was smiling. “Although you can’t always protect your friends from harm, but you can make sure that you keep yourself from harm so you can help them…” Toby replied before he guided Space towards the bedrooms…
Space sighed as he looked at Toby one last time, “I sure hope that you’re right… Because if you’re not, well all I can say is that you’d better grow eyes in the back of our head.” Space grinned before climbing into bed… Toby frowned, “I’ll keep that in mind thanks…” Toby mumbled as he closed the door to the bedrooms…

Short chapter, but what can ya do.. :P Idk when the next one will be up, but I'll try and keep it sooner than this one! (Maybe next weekend? :3) So until then I'm off... Peace! XD

Chapter 5

Space looked at his little sister, Cat, who had fallen asleep after reading her 15th book on ‘Herbs and what they are useful for’. Space smiled as Cat breathed slowly, making her flanks move up, and then back down. He then looked around the small library that Toby, the dark haired, sharp tongued dwarf, had placed them in to study up on combat skills. It seems that Cat wasn’t the only one who had fallen asleep, Princess was lying on the dirty stone tile, completely zonked out, while Shila seemed to be having a hard time keeping her eyes open as she flipped another page in a book that Space assumed was about Archery.
Stripes was the only one who did not seem tired, as he quickly turned one page after the other, engulfing every word that the book stuck in his face. Space couldn’t understand why Stripes would be so interested in a book, but then again, it didn’t concern him… Space slowly picked himself back up as he reached for yet another book, careful not to disturb the dirt around it. He immediately opened it after taking a long sigh, and sat back down to engulf yet another book on how to properly use your sword…
Space groaned in exhaustion, as he began to realize that this adventure was going to be a lot more tedious than what he had originally thought. No matter how many pages he read about being a knight seemed to make him feel better. The pages certainly didn’t hold back on detail when it came to the fighting section, it was enough to make even Space gag at some of the crude images.
“Didn’t think that being a Knight would be so gory, did you?” Stripes questioned, making Space jump in surprise, not expecting Stripes to have talked to him while he was reading. Space shifted positions before facing Stripes once again… “Oh, it’s not exactly that… I mean I’ve handled that before, but just thinking about doing it is gross...” Space grimaced; as yet another shiver ran across his spine and down to his tail bones.
Stripes seemed to laugh at him, only making the situation feel even more awkward… Stripes quickly cleared his throat before continuing, “You know, you don’t have to feel that way… After all, we will really only be battling the dark shadow’s ‘underlings’, and they won’t leave any blood behind…” The wizard in training smiled, knowing that he knew something that he didn’t…
Space looked shocked, but that expression quickly faded. “Oh, well I guess that makes it a bit better…” Space sarcastically exclaimed. Stripes’ only reply was a sudden outburst of laughter that not only made him fall over, but woke everyone else up around himself.
Shila rubbed her eyelids before growling a bit, “Ugh, why did you do that Stripes?” Shila mumbled before she closed the book she had been reading with a loud ‘Slam!’ Stripes only smiled before he got up and stretched, “Well, to answer you question, Shila. You girl canines had fallen asleep last time I checked, and you know that Toby had said once you fell asleep you would get sprayed with water…” Stripes snorted, as a small smile arose from his face.
Shila only blinked before she stood up, “Err, oh ya… He didn’t want us to do that or….” Shila’s mind suddenly clicked back in... “Hey, he didn’t say that!” Shila growled, as she walked towards the doorway that lead to the living room… “He wanted us to go to bed if we started feeling sleepy!” She frowned…
Both Space and Stripes giggled, as they seemed to be having an extremely hard time holding back their laughter, as they watched the now irritable Shila walking towards the bedroom’s doorway now… Only then did the rest of the gang decide to follow suit, as they put back up the books they had been reading and followed Shila into the bedroom…

Lefty awoke to sunlight shining on top of her bed, (Wait, not my bed… Toby’s beds…) Lefty quickly corrected herself… Lefty took a quick stretch before glancing around… (Strange, no one is here… I thought that I’d be the first one up.) Lefty thought to herself as she got dressed, making sure that her cross stone and light cloak were over her. A loud “Clang!” soon answered her question as Lefty rushed outside to see what all the commotion was about, only to find that a large crowd was blocking her view…
Hey I can’t see!” Lefty yelled in her mind as she crossed her arms and frowned, obviously upset that she couldn’t see what was going on…
The crowd looked at Lefty in surprise and immediately opened up a path way for her to walk through… “Our apologies, Prophet… We didn’t know that you were even here…” A villager bowed down to Lefty…
“Huh? Oh, it’s okay…” Lefty muttered, as she walked by the villager… (“Strange… I didn’t say that out loud…”) Lefty thought to herself in surprise… She then looked forward to see two figures fighting… Lefty gasped in shock as she saw that the figures were none other than Toby and Space, sword fighting one another, while the crowd roared around them...
Lefty noticed that Space’s face was covered in sweat, yet he was determined not to let his guard down, as he quickly lunged and attempted to attack Toby. “Clang!” The noise was making Lefty’s ears buzz as she stood there watching them… Toby had just blocked Space once again, but it seemed that he was running out of energy to block Space… Space then used his tail to trip the dwarf and sent him falling over, to which Space used as an advantage. With one swift movement Space jumped into the air and, “Clang!” a sword just blocked Space from defeating Toby… Lefty gasped as she saw Toby huff and pull himself up… (Space just won… He truly is something else...) Lefty smiled, as the crowd cheered…
Space then wiped the sweat off of his face. He smiled as he noticed that Lefty had finally woken up… He waved as Lefty noticed where the others were sitting and sat down… Lefty seemed to notice as she waved back to Space, “Still can’t seem to get up on time, silly Lefty…” Space thought to himself…
“HEY! What do you mean by that?” Lefty hollered back to Space… Space blinked in shock, for he hadn’t said anything to Lefty… Toby seemed quite surprised as he looked at Lefty too, before a smile came over his face…
“Alright! Since Princess, Shila, and Space have had their turns at combat skills, it’s time that we show off our last battle.” Toby smiled through the crowd’s chorus of ‘awws…’
Lefty looked at Stripes, guessing from the smile that he had, probably meant it was his turn… Toby then extended his hand in the direction of the group… “This last battle will certainly not be the worst performance…” Toby exclaimed as he adjusted his vest, “Our final match will be Stripes vs. Lefty!” Toby boomed through a large collection of gasps…
Lefty looked at Toby, (Has he gone mad? I’ve had no training what-so-ever! What exactly does he think that he is DOING?) Lefty gasped in horror, while Stripes looked like Toby had hit him with a steam engine…
“They will be putting their new found powers to the test, so they will know how to use them properly on their journey…” Toby roared of the crowd. Lefty and Stripes obediently, but shakily got up and walked towards the make-shift battle field… “I’ve never seen ANY Prophet get up and fight before…”, “Oh Toby, what are you up to this time…” “It’s just incredible to see such young kids accompany a Prophet…” Some voices echoed through Lefty’s head as she walked up towards the battle field. Toby stopped Lefty for a moment, before handing her a light blue sword that matched Lefty’s necklace… “Here, this sword is connected to that stone cross ya got… It will help you train better...” Toby grinned, as he pushed Lefty onto the battle field…
Lefty gulped, she knew that this wasn’t going to end well…. Not only was Stripes much stronger than Lefty, as Lefty quickly found out early in their friendship, but he was holding a wizard’s staff that would clearly amplify his powers…
Be brave, and hold your head high… You may find that it’s easier than it seems...” The stone cross’ voice echoed in Lefty’s ear… This seemed to give Lefty some confidence as she positioned her sword in the air…
Surprisingly Stripes made the first attack as a loud “YA!!!” Rung through the land as he summoned a see- through dragon… Lefty bit back a scared yelp of shock, as she charged at Stripes and not the dragon, like she knew what she was doing… Stripes yelped in surprise at the sight of a sword coming at him, and quickly ran backwards… Lefty swung at him, but her sword was deflected by some shield that had once been the see- through dragon… Lefty blinked in surprise as she slashed her sword at the shield… Every time it bounced off without a dent, which Lefty could not understand… A sudden light bulb clicked, as she quickly looked around… She was trapped inside a magical bubble! “Grr… Stripes! No fair! I demand that you let me out and we continue the fight!” Lefty screamed telepathically to Stripes, not really knowing that she had done it at the time…
Stripes grinned, “No way! I’m not gonna spoil my fun! Besides, we’re supposed to be really fighting, so cheating counts….” Stripes grinned. Lefty huffed, (Great, just my luck….) Lefty thought… She then looked around inside her bubble prison, hoping that there was a way out… A sudden light beam coming inside the bubble made Lefty get an idea… She quickly shined her sword at the sunlight, angling the other beam directly in Stripe’s face. This caused Stripes to yelp in shock before stumbling over a rock and releasing Lefty from her bubbly prison… “Boom! Headshot!” Lefty telepathy shouted, as she ran towards Stripes….
Stripes narrowly dodged the attack, as he waved his wand in the air… A fireball launched itself at Lefty, narrowly missing her, but singed some fur on her ear… Lefty didn’t have time to reply to the sudden attack as another launched at her, narrowly missing her again… Lefty drew out her sword and started aiming her sword at them, swinging it like a baseball bat, trying to desperately deflect the oncoming balls of fire…
Stripes continued his assault of fire balls, as he caught his breath… (Dang! She’s good! But, I still have a few tricks!) Stripes grinned as he summoned a much bigger fire ball… Lefty’s eyes got huge as the giant fire ball hurled itself at her… Lefty was about to panic, but she suddenly got another idea… She closed her eyes and focused all her energy at the moment on re-directing the fireball… A sudden “Yow!” Caught Lefty’s attention as she opened her eyes… There lying on the floor, clothes glowing as if on fire, was Stripes…
Stripes giggled as he picked himself up, “Wow, Lefty… I’m disappointed that you got a little too good, before I could defeat you…” Stripes grinned… Lefty laughed, “Ya, well obviously it was just a fluke… I mean, look at my fur! Am-am I missing an eyebrow?” Lefty laughed at the old TV line, she had just used… Stripes lifted and eyebrow up at lefty and grinned, “Na, but you are missing your tail…” Stripes laughed as Lefty whacked him with her tail, causing him to fall over again…
Toby then pushed the two silly heads apart, “Alright, now why don’t we save that for dinner ok?” Toby grinned… The gang stared at each other, mouths drooling… “Is it that time already?!” The gang piped up as they ran back over to Toby’s house… Toby laughed, “It will be if ya let me cook it!” Toby yelled as he pushed past the hungry mob….

So... Toby decided to train Lefty in live action huh? Well, perhaps it did some good in making the gang hungry... X3 Anyways, did you guys notice Lefty's strange telepathic ability? Nope, not gonna give away anything! But, just pay attention to that! ^_^ Okay, i'm done for today, until next time! :3
O, and p.s. I've already written 10 more chapters ahead of this one... O: So, no this story is NOT dead! :3 also, there is a good chance of a book two! :D
