Chapter 10

Okay, so finally Chapter 10 is done :D It makes me feel very happy that i'm getting somewhere now X3

I love this pic!!! It's totally awsome! The trees, the rain, the shading, and just the perspective of this image is just awsome in my mind! ^_^ Just goes to show how much I have improved over the first pic I drew for this story! :D *ahem* anyways, enjoy the chapter... :3

Chapter 10

“Ugh, this is getting annoying… How long are we just going to walk in this rain?” Shila frowned, as she squeezed out her already drenched fur… Stripes flicked his ear at Shila, as to silently notify that he was aware while his eyes were still fixed on the sheet of paper. “I honestly don’t know, this is the poorest written map that I have ever seen in my life! I mean, it’s bad enough trying to read this ink map in the rain, but it’s another thing when there are no words written on it!” Stripes frowned…

It was then that Lefty stopped suddenly and grunted in surprise; her hood still on… “Impossible! There…! There were words written on the map before we left the village!” Lefty frowned as she faced the group and shook the wet off of her drenched pelt like a dog would do… Lefty then quickly ran over to Stripes and placed a paw on the map, looking next to Stripes… Lefty then murmured in surprise, “Your right Stripes, the words are gone…” Lefty frowned, “But…” Lefty stammered, her pupils growing huge inside her hood.

“But… What?” Cat looked at Lefty with confusion in her eyes… Lefty then rubbed her eyes, “Does anyone notice that the map is… is changing?” Lefty blinked, touching the map as if her senses were failing her…

Stripes looked at Lefty through her hood as he much as he could possible, “Um Lefty? Are you okay?” Stripes cocked his head as he looked at his best high school bud weird. Lefty’s eyes started to faintly glow blue… (I’ve only seen her do that one other time up close…) Stripes thought to himself, as images flooded back into his mind to the point when Lefty and Stripes had play fought in Toby’s village… Although Stripes had not told another living soul, Lefty’s eyes had glowed a faint blue along with her sword before they had started fighting… Stripes had thought it was a fluke at the time, but now he wondered if his hunches were right and that Lefty was activating her ‘light energy’, as he had named it, without her own consent…

“Doesn’t Estyren look sort of like America on this map?” Lefty’s questioned at Stripes as he snapped back into reality. Lefty then looked at the map with semi- blue glowing eyes… Stripes looked back at the map as well… It still was the same except for the words were still missing from it… “Uh… No, I don’t think so… It still looks like the book’s map description of Estyren to me… You know the one we read back at home? I don’t understand how you can possibly even relate the two to be honest…” Stripes frowned, as he gave Lefty a confused look…

“Are you crazy Stripes?! How could you think it looks anything like Estyren?! After all, Estyren is just a location in the book! Not in America! In fact I see where we need to head from here! We are here, walking on route 64! We need to head east to get back home! It’s not that far really!” Lefty squealed excitedly as she jumped up in a joyful manner…

Now Stripes was really worried and confused, “What? What are you talking about Lefty? Did you eat some chocolate in your pockets before we left? Because you’re really freaking me out…” Stripes looked at Lefty concerned…

Lefty was either ignoring Stripes, or she hadn’t heard him, because she started to run forward along the path in the rain… “Guys seriously come on! I don’t want to be having to explain exactly why we are late getting home!” Lefty yelled as she splashed through the mud puddles excitedly.

The gang exchanged looks, before Space quickly sprinted ahead and ran through the muddy puddles to catch up to Lefty… Stripes noticed that Space looked really concerned, but Lefty had mistaken it for him playing while she gleefully yelped and sped up along the pathway. Space had other ideas, as he easily dashed up to Lefty and forcefully grabbed her arm. Lefty squeaked in surprise as he dragged her over to a tree and threw her down, while in the process accidently causing Lefty to hit her head on the tree trunk. Lefty bit back a sharp yelp before she looked up at Space in confusion, her eyes still glowing a bright shade of blue…

“Ow! Why… Space? What the?!” Lefty murmured, as if she was barely aware of anything happening around her anymore… From her perspective everything looked blurry and bleak as she tried to shake her head back into focus… “Lefty snap out of it!” Space growled at her, making Lefty shrink back to the tree trunk in confusion and fear… Space eyed Lefty before frowning at her in worry, “Come on! Wake up! We’re not in America anymore! Let alone earth! For pity’s sake, WAKE UP!” Space yelled at Lefty…

Lefty must have heard him, because her eyes slowly stopped glowing blue and returned to their normal shade of green… Lefty blinked in confusion before noticing Space was standing right in front of her, looking rather angry and concerned… “…Space? Why the world am I sitting in a mud puddle?” Lefty stammered as she got up out of the puddle, wiping herself off with whatever dry fur she had left….

Space sighed in relief before extending his hand out to Lefty, “Don’t know, you tell me miss ‘La de dah…’” Space grinned, as he helped Lefty balance… Lefty growled playfully and whacked him with her ear, making Space utter a small giggle and gently fist punch Lefty’s shoulder. By now the rest of the gang had caught up to them… “Oh my GOSH Lefty! Why did you just run off like that!?” Cat screamed at Lefty, concern filling her eyes… Lefty blinked in both surprise and confusion, “I… I did what now? Can someone explain to me what happened after I looked at Stripes’ map?! My mind feels fuzzy…” Lefty sighed wearily, as she rubbed her head and her eyes started to flicker to a faint blue again… This made her more tired and she began to wobble and totter a little bit.

Space had noticed Lefty’s sudden exhaustion, and caught her just in time to help prop her up as she collapsed totally… “Thanks…” Lefty grimaced, as she tried to pull herself back up… “Don’t mention it...” Space grumbled, as he pushed her back up…

Once that was accomplished, Lefty made sure that everything was still there and then quickly fixed her ears inside her light hood embarrassingly… “Ok so now that confusion has been stirred into the pot, let’s look for some quick shelter before this storm gets worse. Explanations can come later…” Lefty frowned, as lighting quickly flashed in the sky, soon followed by a loud “BOOOOOM!!!!” as some thunder followed suit…

Princess screamed, and hid behind Shila who was closest to her. Shila cracked a small smile at the drenched little lass, “I agree, perhaps that protection of trees over there could stand for just tonight?” Shila pointed her finger towards a small cluster of trees that were keeping a small flat ground area around it nice and dry…

The gang looked at the shelter, “Amazing! ... It was just like it was waiting for us!” Space stared in awe… “Praise the good Lord above us!” Lefty screamed in gratefulness, as she quickly ran for shelter happily… She was soon followed by a very confused gang of mostly older teenagers that were now wondering what the heck they had just gotten themselves signed up for…

*yawn* another mostly dialogue chapter... Don't worry, the next couple of Chapters will have you on the edge of your seats! ^_^ Stay tuned guys, because the next one will come out fairly soon! :D
